Oenothera speciosa, also known as the elegant evening primrose, is a perennial dicotyledonous plant from the Onagraceae family. Robust and undemanding, it adapts to rock gardens and dry regions. Its abundant summer flowering, very fragrant and nectar-bearing, gives solitary 1.5 to 1.9 inches (4 to 5 cm) in diameter pink flowers forming a cup corolla made up of four petals.
