The common reef octopus can reach a total diameter of 4.5ft (1.40m), tentacles extended. Its body, often dotted with white, measures about 15.7inches (40cm). Its color varies according to its mood and environment thanks to pigmented cells, the chromatophores. Octopod, it has 8 tentacles of the same length and hides most often in the holes of the reefs.
