Birdwatching involves observing birds with the naked eye, spotting scopes, telescopes, or binoculars in their living environments for recreational or scientific purposes. It allows studying their behavior and ecological environment, monitoring protected species, and controlling the colonies and their migrations. The use of bird observatories or observation towers like those of the Pont de Gau ornithological park allows watching the birds without scaring them away. Listening to their song is also an integral part of the observation process.
