Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde and the Vieux-Port

Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde and the Vieux-Port (Old Port) are probably the two most emblematic places in Marseille. The Vieux-Port is the prestigious theater for the history of the city through all the ages, from the Greek and Roman colonies of Massilia to the medieval city of Marsiho. Even recently, in 2013, it was renovated and refurbished to represent, under the always benevolent gaze of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, the nerve center of the Phocean city, which had become the European Capital of Culture.
