Many mushers, both breeders and dog handlers, have settled in Haut-Jura because of its climate and its relief suitable for sled expeditions over several days. Several dog sled races are now organized there, notably at La Pesse and Les Rousses, and the possibilities for Nordic treks on a background of spruce forests - as here around Septmoncel-les-Molunes - are almost limitless.
