Non-parasitic orchids

Mainly found in tropical regions, epiphytic orchids live on trees to which they are attached without feeding on them. They are, therefore, non-parasitic plants that live at the expense of others. Their aerial roots provided with a very absorbent veil do not need contact with the ground either. They capture water vapor in the atmosphere and feed on the organic substances accumulated at their base. Haptotropic, these orchids take the shape of the surface on which they have chosen to develop.
