Nepenthes of Vieillard or the 'miner's gourds'
The Nepenthes of Vieillard (Nepenthes vieillardii) are insectivorous plants of the Sarraceniaceae family endemic to New Caledonia. They are also called the 'miner's gourds' because of both their particular shape and the mining reality of the island of Grande-Terre on the ultramafic soils of which they grow.
