Neighbor to another state property

The nearly twelve centuries-old citadel of the Fort de Brégançon, which became the holiday residence of the presidents of the French Republic in 1968, benefits from a privileged location. Such a setting partly explains why it neighbors the house of Grand Duke Henry, another state property belonging to Luxembourg. Since 1949, the Grand Duchy has owned the Sarrazine tower, also located in Cabasson in the locality of Bormes-les-Mimosas. Its entrance is marked with an L testifying to its extraterritorial status granted by General de Gaulle at the end of the Second World War.
