The port of Trouville-sur-Mer has kept its authenticity with its fishing port and its fish market. The quays that follow the Touque form the oldest part of the city, born from the sea and its products. The Halle aux Poissons (fish market) is an institution and a local symbol. Its typical neo-Norman style building, all of half-timbering and brick, sees the landing of the catch of the day, which benefits buyers and restaurants in the area. The building has been listed as a Historical Monument since 1991.
