Boscodon Abbey is a 12th-century Romanesque building located in the municipality of Crots in the Hautes-Alpes department in the heart of one of the most renowned fir forests in France and near Serre-Ponçon Lake. Its origins date back to 1132 when Lord Guillaume de Montmirail donated the forest to a first community of hermits who settled there. Ten years later, a second donation to monks of the order of Chalais resulted in the construction of the abbey, which would become the mother abbey of the Chalaisian order in 1303 and a Benedictine abbey in 1396.
