The La Galotière farm in Crouttes sits on a hill covered with a carpet of grass. Since 1987, 2,400 apple trees with tall stems and 5 acres (2 ha) of low stems have been operated by the same family to produce AOC ciders and Calvados from nearly fifty varieties. The cider is crafted with a mix of sour and sweet apples. The Prestige Cuvée cider from the La Galotière estate is labeled as Pays d'Auge and produced in organic farming from varieties from Vimoutier.
