Risky navigation in the Lavezzi Archipelago

Southeastern Corsica, the Lavezzi islands archipelago is one of the most dangerous places of the Mediterranean Sea. Sailing is risky because of a large number of reefs located in a narrow strait and traversed by strong currents. In 1855, the French frigate La Sémillante breaks on a rock after a storm and loses all its crew. Two marine cemeteries and an altar commemorate this shipwreck on the Lavezzo island.
