Located on the Mediterranean coast between Le Lavandou and Saint-Tropez in the Var department, the Domaine du Rayol is one of the most famous sites owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral (Coastal Protection Agency). It is also one of the most representative thanks to its management of the natural and cultural dimensions of the place via the creation of the Jardin des Méditerranées by the landscape designer Gilles Clément. On the other hand, the Domaine du Rayol is typical of the restoration of emblematic buildings of seaside tourism of the 20th century.
