In 2002, Linda Tucker founded the Global White Lion Protection Trust. She campaigned for white lions to be declared a national living heritage and incorporated into the CITES legislation on the trade of endangered species.
In 2004, the Global White Lion Protection Trust therefore initiated a world-first re-establishment of white lions within their natural habitat.
