At the end of the fall, muskoxen have an inner coat of soft wool under its fur that protects them in temperatures as low as 100° F (- 40°C). They huddle together to save warmth. They survive extreme Arctic cold and low food sources thanks to the fat stores from their abundant spring and summer treats.
