A musher - also known as a dog handler or team pilot - is the person who drives a dog sled team on snow or ice. He is both the breeder and trainer of the dogs he leads. The different mushers confront each other during sled dog races. For these sports competitions, they must come with a minimum crew of two dogs which they cannot change during the race.
