Moss, an epiphytic and pioneer plant
Moss is an epiphytic and pioneer plant which spreads in humid environments on the bark of trees or on stones and rocks. It is formed by photosynthesis from microscopic spores from trees and therefore develops particularly in forests. It has neither a sap distribution system nor true roots. Rhizoids allow it to attach itself to all kinds of substrates even completely or partially devoid of soil.
