The majority of the harvest remains manual throughout the Burgundy vineyard for ethical quality concerns. However, this tradition is currently decreasing in favor of machines and only accounts for 30% of harvests in France. About twenty pickers are needed for some 10 to 15 days of work. The bunches of grapes are cut and placed carefully in baskets collected by the porters. Already selected at the time of cutting, they will be sorted by hand on tables to keep only the most beautiful.
