Moray eel: beware of its bite
1
0
Rather shy and discreet, the masked moray prefers to hide and flee rather than attack. It defends itself when it is disturbed or threatened by the blockage of its escape route. It can also bite in case of misidentification of food given by hand by divers. Its saliva contains secretions with digestive, hemolytic and neurotoxic action and its bite can lead to superinfection due to putrefactive inter-dental food stains.
