From the slopes of Capu Di a Veta, dominated by the Austrians' cross, one can see the snowy summit of Monte Cinto, the highest point of Corsica at 8,879 feet (2,706 m) above sea level. This belvedere located about 6.2 miles (10 km) east of Calvi in Haute-Corse is easily accessible to hikers at the end of 2,198 feet (670 m) of elevation.
