Tiga's only village, Toka - located to the north-west - has few permanent buildings outside the dispensary, the grocery store, the post office and the Protestant temple. The rest of the village is mainly made up of traditional huts and modest houses topped with sheet metal. Without running water nor electricity, the population stores its water reserves in cisterns and uses solar panels to power the refrigerators, freezers and televisions.
