Some reef fish are adorned with colors and patterns that confuse them with their environment to which they blend to escape their predators or better surprise their prey. It is good for them because researches have proved that the grouper, the reef predator par excellence, attacks three times more often when there is an important contrast between its prey and the color of the background.
