The spotted coat of the giraffe is excellent camouflage, especially in the early stages of life when the baby giraffe is very vulnerable and must be hidden from predators.
The polygons of the giraffe’s fur blend in with the natural environment. In this way, when a newborn giraffe hides behind shrubs or bushes, it becomes difficult to spot it.
