Today vinified all over the world, Merlot has long been assimilated to Bordeaux terroirs, where it represents 58% of the planted areas and 95% of the composition of the legendary Château Pétrus. This red grape variety, with small black berries, appeared at the end of the 18th century. It gives the wine a dark and dense color, with a bouquet of red and black fruits and a wide aromatic palette.
