Cap Fagnet rises above the town of Fécamp at more than 344 ft (105 m) above sea level in the Seine-Maritime department. Karst and erosion have shaped its chalk, flint, and dolomite cliffs, and rainwaters dig funnels of clay and earth. Little by little, they nibble the meadows occupied by lawns of grasses. The whole Côte d'Albâtre (Alabaster Coast) is under close monitoring because of the landslides that become more frequent with global warming.
