Le 26 décembre 2004, la Thaïlande vivait un des épisodes les plus noirs de son histoire, un tsunami d'un ampleur incroyable frappait les côtés du pays. Khao Lak fut la ville la plus touchée. La vague pénétra à plus d'un kilomètre dans les terres et emportant notamment ce bateau de police, le 813 Police Boat, à près de 2 kilomètres de son point de mouillage, là où il est aujourd'hui exposé!
