Meadows of the Hautes-Alpes
2
0
The temporary and permanent meadows of the Hautes-Alpes are largely conditioned to rainfalls which favor the growth of fodder. They are most productive in rainy spring and stormy summer conditions and lose volume in drought. Two to three cuts are generally made annually to ensure a good forage yield : the first in spring, the second from August to the end of September and the third possibly in the fall.
