At the foot of the limestone cliffs of the Strait of Bonifacio, scientists carry out an ongoing substantive work. Thanks to sensors, they study the evolution of red corals, an endemic species of the Mediterranean. These precious gorgonians trap micro-organisms in their flexible trees and are particularly reactive to global warming. They are one of the indicators of environmental changes.
