The Przewalski foal (Equus ferus przewalskii) is able to follow its mother from its first hours of life. It develops a deep and immediate closeness with her, which lasts at least until its 2nd month. The mare and her foal permanently remain within 16.4 ft (5 m) of each other during this period, then 60% of the time six months after birth and 30% two years later.
