Many steps to climb

Three hundred and fifty! This is the number of steps one has to climb to reach the so-called “Wonder”. The abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel is one of those architectural splendours that will touch your heart but which must be earned. The large exterior step (100 steps) gives access to the Châtelet, then to the ‘Porterie’, or Guards’ room. The large interior step (90 steps) leads, via the Saut-Gaultier hall, to the square in front of the abbey church.
