Mammillaria sheldonii es una especie perteneciente a la familia Cactaceae. Es endémico de Chihuahua y Sonora en México. Su hábitat natural son los áridos desiertos. Tiene unas poderosas púas o espinas y muy compactas.
Las flores son violetas, de un rosa brillante y tienen forma de embudo con 2 centímetros de largo y diámetro. Los bordes de los pétalos son casi de color blanco pálido. La flor se abre a menudo durante varios días.
