Houses covered with ivy

Many houses in the old Montmartre have facades covered with ivy which changes colour with the seasons. Rue Cortot has several of these. The houses of Villa Léandre, a 70-metre long dead end against Avenue Junot, are built in an Anglo-Norman style with lots of trees, which provides a complete change of scenery. Rue des Saules connects the Clignancourt district to the Grandes Carrières district. Immortalized by Cézanne, Utrillo and Van Gogh, its bucolic aspect constitutes an essential walk in Montmartre.
