The lost use of the wine lodges
0
0
The wine lodges once dotted the landscape of the vineyards of Languedoc. Also called 'vine huts' or 'vine lodges', these small rural constructions are isolated and built in dry stone or even in plant materials. The primary purpose of these constructions was to allow the owner of the vineyard to store equipment or shelter during a break in their work on the vines. After the mechanization of the profession of winegrowers, the use of these wine lodges became less and less common.
