Lost in thick fog

The climate of the Meuse is of degraded oceanic type with a continental influence. Winters there are long, wet, and cold. It also results in thick mists, which sometimes make the shores of Madine Lake disappear in spring and autumn. Fishing is allowed in some of its parts, and it is not unusual for fishermen to get lost in the cottony patches. The lake freezes every year, sometimes starting in late winter. Its region experiences around 20 days of snow and 60 days of fog per year on average.
