Mango trees are very popular with the inhabitants of Grande-Terre because of their longevity of several hundred years and their productivity. Depending on the variety, it is assessed on average at 275lbs (125kg) per year for a properly maintained adult tree and its potential increases over time. The fruiting linked to the origin of the mango tree begins from the fourth year for grafts and after ten years for trees from pits.
