Corsican rocky coastline

The Corsican coastline is mainly rocky. The nature of the rocks making up its cliffs depends on their belonging to one of the three major geological complexes of the island. They are granitic in the Hercynian Corsica which extends from Solenzara to the Agriates desert, schistous in the Alpine Corsica which constitutes Cap Corse and sedimentary near Bonifacio and Saint-Florent where limestone outcrops.
