Lion from a coalition after eating
This beautiful male is the dominant one of a six male lions coalition. By forming this kind of alliance, lions can rule over larger territories, and are also more efficient when they hunt. In this coalition, there is also a dominance hierarchy. For instance, once a prey hunted, the dominant lion selects the pieces of meat it is interested in. It may authorize the other lions to feed at the same time, before moving aside, once the feast over, as it is the case on this photo.
