Bugatti's racing successes mainly lasted from the end of 1925 to 1939, with various models. The Bugattis remained unbeaten in the French GP from 1928 to 1931. The progress of Alfa Romeo and the arrival of Maserati and Mercedes-Benz marked the end of the domination of the Bugatti Type 35. Both the space dedicated to the pilot and the front view were particularly limited inside the model nicknamed Pur-sang (Thoroughbred). The Cité de l'Automobile in Mulhouse displays 150 different Bugatti cars.
