The Lilac Oxalis, Oxalis corymbosa, is a perennial herbaceous plant that is 3.9 to 9.8in (10 to 25cm) high. Its purple-pink flowers in broad umbels have 5 purple veined petals from 0.5 to 0.7in (15 to 20mm). Its leaves, its roots and its flowers - with a characteristic acidulous taste - are edible but slightly toxic because of the oxalic acid which they contain.
