Life after the races

In France, racehorses are equipped with a chip that allows them to be traced when they leave the racing world. A certain number of them are entrusted to stud farms, such as the Haras des Étincelles (photo), for breeding. Others begin a career in riding, where they are sought after for their sporting qualities, their adaptability, and their resistance to effort. Some horses have a second career in another discipline (polo, dressage, jumping, equestrian show) or even become horses for leisure, trail riding, or promenade.
