Conocida como Diplacodes lefebvrii Rambur, 1842, Libélula de Lefebvre, percher negro, skimmer negro.Black Percher. Es una especie común nativa de la mayoría de África y el sur de Eurasia. Se puede encontrar en casi cualquier tipo de hábitat de agua dulce.
Es una libélula con ojos grandes y marrones. Los machos son totalmente negros, pero las hembras tienen colores pardos y marrones con vetas negras en sus segmentos.
