The history of wooden toys in the Haut-Jura
0
0
Whistles, flutes, skittles are parts of the numerous wooden games made in the village of Moirans-en-Montagne. The development of the industrialization of toy manufacturing began in 1820. The specialty of wooden toys made with wood lathes became the standard of the Jura. Influenced by german toys, french manufacturers embark on the making of bowling games, croquet games, spinning tops, and construction games. But electricity in factories changed production, which modernized and increased. However, after World War II the rise of plastic will be competing with wood.
