The study of the fossils discovered in the phosphate mines of the ‘Causses du Quercy’ allows us to look at history dating back to more than 50 million years. It also allows us to study the evolution of yesterday’s climate conditions and consequently those of today. The present species are observed and are classified using a cenogram. It allows to classify mammals one next to the other, and then compare with the current cenograms to deduce the evolution of the climates over time.
