The label of Burgundy wines includes eight compulsory mentions: the name of the wine, the health message for pregnant women (or a pictogram), the producing country, the bottle’s capacity, the name of the bottler, the batch number, the allergens and the mention contains sulphites if necessary, the degree of alcohol. Optional information may include distinctions, the vintage if at least 85% of the grapes are from that year's harvest, the grape variety, the method of production, and whether the wine has been matured in barrels.
