The main staircase of the former airport

Completely renovated in 2013 and 2019, the old terminal building at Le Bourget airport has been restored to much the same appearance as when it was inaugurated in 1937. Designed in the Art Deco style by Georges Labro, the building is emblematic of the airport architecture of the 1930s. The architect drew his inspiration from several worlds: aviation, navigation – the ramps of the main staircase are in the form of ropes –, rail transport – the hall is lit by an immense glass paving stone canopy, 12 metres high. The Air Museum since 1975, the former Bourget air terminal houses collections from the early days of aviation.
