The Castle of the Clos de Vougeot is in the heart of the Burgundy vineyards and the Climats de Bourgogne. It was a wine farm built by the Cistercian monks of the Cîteaux Abbey in the 12th century. The renaissance style castle was extended during the 16th century. The two monumental stone towers enhance the entrance of the castle. This site doesn’t produce wine anymore but it is a place where the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin gather.
