In Corsica, on the red cliff sides of Scandola, some mysterious holes are fascinating. The tafoni are formed by the corrosion of the granite rocks on the coastline of a dry climate area. These rounded cavities which can reach up to several meters in diameter are hollowed out by humidity and salt. The larger the cavity, the more it is shaded and the more it grows and forms real intriguing caves.
