The careful and simultaneous observation of the two giraffes in this photo confirms that each giraffe has a coat with unique patterns of its own, like the fingerprints in humans. These patches or spots not only serve as camouflage but are individually surrounded by a very elaborate system of blood vessels which functions as a thermal window helping to regulate its body temperature.
