The specifics of cross-country skis
2
0
In cross-country skiing, the skis are lighter, longer, and narrower than in alpine skiing. They have a more or less marked camber profile that allows the section directly under the foot not to be in contact with the snow when the weight is distributed evenly between the two skis. In skating, the skis are entirely dedicated to sliding and do not have a push zone for traction. They are generally stiffer but even shorter and lighter than in classic style.
