"Les Sagnes" a hamlet sheltered by Mount Lozère
0
0
The locality of Les Sagnes is located in the village of Saint-Julien-du-Tournel at an altitude of 4,081 feet (1244 m) on the fringes of Mount Lozère. Being the highest point of the Cévennes, this summit shelters sumptuous landscapes. It also dominates many hamlets like that of Les Sagnes. This commune is known for its bell tower of turmoil. It was built in the 19th century and listed as a Historic Monument in 1992. All these structures feature an iron or stone cross and some also include a small lodge for the bell ringer, fitted out in their bases.
